Shanghai, China — Tongkun Group, China's leading producer of polyester filament and a company widely known as the "Walmart of polyester filament," has selected Zhenyun Technology to build its next-generation digital procurement platform, powering a group-wide shift to centralized sourcing.
Listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2011, Tongkun operates a full industrial chain spanning oil, gas, filament, and fabric — with over 1,000 product varieties across six series including POY, FDY, and DTY. Its nationwide production footprint means procurement at Tongkun is large-scale, highly diversified in category, and complex in process.
Last year, Tongkun launched a deep reform of its procurement operations, moving decisively toward group-level centralized procurement — with digitalization as the engine, integrated finance-business operations, and full supplier lifecycle management as the framework. Zhenyun was chosen as the partner to make it happen.
A procurement platform built for the group
Together, the two teams will deliver:
A unified group procurement foundation — one standard for purchasing across the entire group
End-to-end digital closure — from supplier management, sourcing, and contracts through order execution, goods receipt, and settlement, with no offline breakpoints
Full supplier lifecycle management — a digital loop covering onboarding, performance evaluation, and phase-out
A one-stop e-procurement mall — purpose-built for non-production materials
Once live, the platform will give Tongkun online collaboration under unified standards, full process visibility, complete traceability, centralized price negotiation, and fine-grained supplier management — turning its centralized procurement strategy into an operational reality.
At the project kickoff, Tongkun Executive President Li Shengjun called the initiative "a battle we must win" — critical to the group's supply chain management and its cost-reduction and efficiency goals. He set five expectations for the project: full participation and open communication; facing the pain of change honestly; strict control of master data quality; breaking through institutional inertia; and on-time go-live.
Zhenyun Chairman Wang Pei pledged full commitment: "We will work shoulder to shoulder with Tongkun to build a procurement management system that carries both industry depth and Tongkun's own DNA."
Beyond one project
For Zhenyun, this partnership extends its proven track record in the chemical industry to one of China's manufacturing giants. Both sides see the project as a starting point — a platform for joint innovation and new digital procurement scenarios that can help accelerate the intelligent transformation of Chinese manufacturing at large.
